Successful AGM 2019! 2019-12-04 23:26:00

Successful AGM as we look ahead to 2020.

Kilworth GAA held our AGM Wednesday December 4th in the club rooms in front of a good crowd. Chairman John Sheehan opened the AGM by welcoming all present and offered a prayer to remember all those who we have lost over the past year.

Reports:

Joint secretaries Liam Kenny and Labhras Flynn gave a very detailed report reviewing the clubs activities both on and off the field for 2019. Reflected in their report were the successes of the season for Kilworth G.A.A. The premier intermediate hurler’s without doubt had an outstanding season. The club are looking forward to making history by competing at senior A hurling level.  We wish every success to the team and management in competing at this grade against Ballymartle, Bride Rovers and Fr. O’ Neills. The Junior B hurlers also had a successful season getting to the championship final, however unfortunately came up short to Ballyhea on the day. The U21 hurlers lost out to Kildorrey in the North Cork Quarter Final. The junior footballers reached the North Cork Final and lost out to a better Kilshannig side on the night. The U21 footballers did not qualify from the round robin stage. They congratulated the juvenile club for their successes throughout 2019. They wished the best of luck to the new officers for the Juvenile club with Ned O’ Brien as the new chairman. The secretaries extended a massive gratitude to all players, management and supporters who took the time to dedicate their efforts to the club. Their work does not go unnoticed and is greatly appreciated by all.

Liam Kenny then acknowledged the clubs successes off the field. These included Féile 2019, Scór 2019, The Annual Golf Classic, the lotto and the St.Stephens Day walk/run which are great fundraisers for the club.  A massive congratulations was given to Patsy O’Mahoney who is elected for the Avondhu Hall of Fame. The club look forward to the commencement of the clubhouse in 2020.

Treasurer Maurice McNamara gave a comprehensive report for the past year. It is great to see the club in a healthy financial position heading into 2020.
