ATTENTION TURNS TO AVONDHU JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS 2018-05-01 11:48:00

Following the defeat of the intermediates a few weeks ago, our attention now turns to the Synergy Fermoy Credit Union Junior ‘A’ Football Championship where Kilworth will take on Ballyclough in Castletownroche on Friday May 11th @ 7pm in round one. Please note that this date is yet to be confirmed. We are hoping to have two league games under our belts between now and then and we would like to wish all the players and management the very best of luck with the preparations and in the championship opener in just over a week’s time. Please keep a close eye on Social Media, the club website and/or next week’s notes for the confirmed date and time of the fixture and we hope that a good crowd of supporters will turn out to get behind the lads.

Following the footballers, we will then have the Hibernian Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship round one game between Kilworth and Doneraile to look forward to. This game will take place in Glanworth on Saturday May 19th 2018 @ 7pm. The junior hurlers have suffered two defeats in the opening rounds of the league so far at the hands of Araglen and Fermoy but here’s hoping our luck will change when we take to the field for our opening championship game. The hurlers are hoping to play Ballyhea in a league game as preparation for the championship encounter but again this is to be confirmed so keep an eye on Social Media for more details on this. The club would like to wish all of the players and management the best of luck in their games over the coming weeks and the club would again appreciate a great turnout of support to get behind the lads in Glanworth on May 19th

AGHADA UP NEXT FOR INTERMEDIATES

As I’m sure you all know by now, we will meet Aghada in round two of the Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship following their defeat to Fr. O’Neills in round one last weekend. Now that we know who our opponents are, the countdown is well and truly on to this do or die game for the club. If we win, we are back in with a fighting chance in this championship, but if we lose we are out and will have to wait for the 2019 championship to go again. That is why this game is so hugely important. Although the game is a few months away yet (provisionally July 15th), the players and management are continuing to prepare and work hard to be ready for the clash with the men of Aghada. We have a number of league games to play between now and then and these will no doubt provide good preparation for the game. We want to have a long year of hurling championship action ahead of us so here’s hoping the lads can produce an excellent performance and with a bit of luck on our side, we hope to overcome the challenge of Aghada in July. We are all behind you lads!
